PBA has been implementing the Morningside Model of Generative Instruction (MMGI) since 2017. Within the second year of implementation of the MMGI model, using the Precision Teaching application in our classrooms, our learners have made steady gains. During the 2018-2019 school year, the annual assessment data showed that students made an average of 1.25 years of growth in the area of Math Fact Fluency and again over one year’s growth in their phonetic decoding/word attack skills. Many of these learners came in with academic deficits and had been unable to make those gains in a more traditional school setting. We continue to work diligently to continue this progress now entering into our fourth year, as we continue this collaborative model.
