Auslyn James is a human resources professional with over five years of extensive experience in diverse, busy environments where efficiency, speed, decisiveness and collaboration are critical. She is committed to developing human resources as a strategic element for business success. Her strengths are in employee relations, recruiting, payroll and benefits, and business process improvement.
After relocating from the small Caribbean island of Antigua in 2007, Auslyn obtained her bachelor’s degree in business management with a human resources specialization at Monroe College in New York, where she graduated with highest honors. She is currently enrolled in a Masters Program at Mercy College in NY and is awaiting approval on her Thesis on the Effectiveness of work-life balance on Staff Retention, to successfully attain her degree in human resources management.
Auslyn’s HR experience is the true definition of the phrase “started from the bottom now we’re here.” Her passion started as an HR Intern at Planned Parenthood in the Spring of 2007. She then obtained employment with the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services (JBFCS) one of the largest non-profit Organizations in New York, as the Facilities/Purchasing Coordinator. However, she knew that this was only a foot in the door. She volunteered a lot of her time in the HR Department and represented the company at many Job Fairs and other recruiting events to obtain relevant HR experience and exposure. Her passion, drive and relentlessness landed her the position as the HR Administrative Coordinator, supporting three of the 145 programs at JBFCS. There, she excelled and with exceptional service and hard work, was recognized and awarded with the Employee of the Year in 2014, by the New York State Office of Mental Health.
Auslyn continued her quest on becoming a consummate HR professional while subsequently working for Air France/KLM/Delta Airlines as the HR Operations Coordinator, responsible for processing payroll and coordinating benefits for over 1500 employees both locally and internationally. While working at Air France/KLM/Delta, Auslyn successfully planned and executed a Payroll Summit which resulted in streamlined payroll processes, a better understanding of each Manager’s role as it pertains to the Payroll function and bridged communication gaps.
Before relocating to Florida in 2016, Auslyn was employed by the Archdiocese of NY as the Regional HR Generalist, responsible for supporting 15 schools (900 employees) in the Northeast Bronx Region.
Since relocating to Brevard County from New York mid-2016, Auslyn worked as the HR/Payroll Manager at Behavior Services of Brevard, a small school/ABA clinic, for approximately 2 years, where she was responsible for all things HR, Payroll and Credentialing.
When she isn’t doing all things HR, you can find her singing or dancing (karaoke style) with her daughter Ava; reading a book by her favorite Authors Drs. Stephen Covey and Myles Munroe; or working on her own book, A Guide for International Students. Auslyn has set a personal career goal on becoming a Certified HR Professional by the end of 2019.

Principal - Puzzle Box Academy
I am the principal at Puzzle Box Academy. Since starting with the company, May 5, 2018, I have learned a great deal about the resources and opportunities for families that have students with special needs. After working in the public- school system for 19 years, I was thrilled to see there were other opportunities for families to receive the additional help and resources needed to meet their child’s individual needs. I absolutely love what we do here at Puzzle Box Academy. Since we have resources for both their academic and therapeutic needs, we are truly able to help the whole child be the best they can be.
I started out as a exceptional student education teacher when I graduated from UCF in 1996. I worked with students with specific learning disabilities for 6 years and then moved to a traditional classroom. In the traditional classroom, I worked with students who were receiving ESE services as well as general education students. I’ve taught all grade levels. After 9 years in the classroom, I went back to school to earn a specialist’s degree in educational leadership. After that, I was a literacy coach, Title 1 coordinator and coordinator for magnet schools and finally a school assistant principal for 8 years.
Even though I sound as southern as they come, I am a native Floridian born in Brevard County. When I was 5, my family moved to Mississippi where my mother was from. When I was a senior in high school, my dad’s job brought him back to Florida and I moved with my parents to Palm Bay, Florida. I’ve been here ever since. I have two children, a daughter, Hannah who is in the Navy and a son, Zachary, who is attending University of Central Florida. My husband is retired from Brevard County Sheriff’s Department and now works as a computer forensics analyst with the postal service. My husband and I live in Viera with Zachary and our two Miniature Schnauzers, Pepper and Lulu.

Sarah attended the University of Central Florida and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Development. Later, she worked to obtain her Master’s Degree in Education, specializing in Curriculum Design and Instruction with a focus in Special Education. Her career mission is to find and unlock the potential in every child, no matter the barrier. To do this, she is focused on assisting families with understanding their educational options, embracing the journey that their son/daughter is on, and individualizing the pathway for every child to reach goals that some may view as too difficult, or even impossible. As a team, she believes we can accomplish wonderful things!

Administrative Assistant - Puzzle Box Academy
Previously, I worked eleven years in a fast-paced call center environment, nine years of which I was a Customer Service Supervisor. I was responsible for managing a team of consultants and employees handling customer sales and service inquiries via email, chat, and phone at multiple locations and working from home.
In this role, I was responsible for mass hiring and ramping up staffing for these roles during the Holiday Season. I was the subject matter expert providing customized training and supporting this team during the day-to-day operations. I provided their weekly quality assurance reviews; first-line technical support; I lead by example handling escalations across the contact channels to achieve satisfactory resolutions and retain future business; managed performance and gave feedback for annual reviews; adjusted schedules to meet the business needs; I reviewed and approved time cards and processed payroll. I ensured my team’s activities and the sales floor aligned with the company’s financial targets.
This extensive experience gave me all the tools I would need to make my transition to Puzzle Box Academy in March of 2017! While the type of “customer” may have changed, my focus and commitment to excellence remains unchanged.
I am happily married for 10 years with two small children. When I’m not working my family loves to fish the beach, explore the great outdoors, visit the local attractions, and make fun memories together.
