Assistant Clinical Director
I was born and raised in a small town in Illinois. I studied psychology and sociology as an undergraduate student because I was interested in marriage and family counseling. However, while in college I realized I was more interested in research than counseling. I chose not to continue school right after graduating with my B.S. in psychology and instead worked in nursing homes for three years. It was during this time that I started taking an interest in behavior and ways to manage challenging behaviors of older adults with dementia. When I started researching graduate programs, I came across applied behavior analysis, which I realized was exactly what I wanted to do.
In 2014 I moved to Melbourne to begin graduate school at Florida Institute of Technology studying applied behavior analysis. I began work at the Scott Center for Autism Treatment as a behavior technician until 2015. From 2015-2016 I completed my practicum at the Fountains of Melbourne where I worked with older adults with dementia. In 2017 I started at Puzzlebox Academy where I gained further experience working with children with ASD. In July 2018 I graduated with my M.S. in applied behavior analysis and in November 2019 I passed the BCBA exam. I have been working as a BCBA at Puzzlebox since December 2018.
